Cardigan: Avengers Style

I love wearing my fandoms. A Batman tshirt or a Deadpool pin makes me happy and excited about liking things, and it can be a great way to start conversations with other people who enjoy Batman or Deadpool or whatever fandom it might be. The problem is that most fandom things often aren’t the best things to wear to corporate jobs, even on Casual Fridays. So, I got some nice plain cardigans in dark colours and ordered some patches from ebay and decided to combine the two and see what happened.

Firstly, I pinned the patches in place on the shoulders of the cardigans. This took a whole lot longer then I expected it to. Particularly getting them more-or-less in line with each other.

Then sewing the patches in place with a nice simple whip stitch. I stretched the fabric a little so it wouldn’t pucker too much.

And then done! Avengers patch in place and looking great, not too much in the way of puckering and it doesn’t look like it will be falling off any time soon. On one side…

Of course then the process gets repeated on the other side. At least the patch was already pinned in place.

One boring blue cardigan transformed into a kinda awesome Avengers cardigan that looks a little like an Avengers support person uniform. I’m going to think of it that way when I wear it to work next Friday.
