Nerdvember week two! I’m getting pretty excited about wearing lots of fun geeky fashion and generally just put more thought into my passions, which makes me smile.

Nerdvember Challenge 2018 – Week One
Here is the start of my Nerdvember Year Two. A whole week worth of wearing nerdy things that make me happy!
Novice Mage Robes from the world of Skyrim
At a convention last year I picked up a voucher for a photo shoot with professional photographers and wanted to have a cosplay to wear for it. I love cosplay, but I lack a lot of confidence to wear it and suffer from chronic procrastination in the build process. I hoped having a deadline might help me build something awesome. And you know what? It did! I build a Novice Mage from the world of Skyrim!
The Day Space Mountain Put On a Special Show
The very first time I visited and DisneyLand, and only the second time I attended any Disney theme parks I knew I had to ride Space Mountain. Whilst I was riding, Space Mountain died. Or coughed momentarily, then recovered really… but the end result was that I got an unexpected behind-the-scenes look at the inside of the roller coaster with the lights on!
Street Clothes from the Dark Side
The type of geeky clothing I love best is the kind that it may not be immediately obvious that a geeky reference is being made. This outfit was just like that. It features bits and pieces from the dark side of the force with an overall red and black colour scheme.

Sewing a Pleated Minnie Mouse DisneyBound Skirt
Very soon I will be heading to DisneyLand in Tokyo for the very first time! I’m excited about this trip, so to put that excitement into something usable I’ve been planning and making outfits. The first one was a mermaid skirt to wear to DisneySea, but this time I’m making a red skirt with white spots to DisneyBound as Minnie Mouse herself. This project was planned in the “winging it” style, and meanders along the kind of path you would expect for a project with minimal planning. But I finished it in the end, and this is a fun skirt to wear!

Creating a Little Mermaid Skirt
Dineybounding is heaps of fun! I’ve done it a few times and it always makes me feel a little special. Later this year I will be going to DisneySea for the very first time, so wanted something exciting to wear. And what better character to Disneybound as than the original ocean princess; Ariel. Plus I’ve wanted an excuse for a long time to use the gorgeous mermaid fabric, which is perfect for The Little Mermaid!
Building a Staff of Fireballs from the World of Skyrim
I love Skyrim. It’s a game I’ve spent many hours in, most of the time just wandering around and looking at things. It was the first game I really lost myself in and it holds a special place in my heart. There are so many fantastic weapons and armour in the game and I’d love to make them all! However “all of the things” is a poor starting point, so I decided to start with making a Staff of Fireballs instead.
Altering a Guy’s Shirt to Cosplay Jack Harkness
With John Barrowman back in Australia a convention appearance I really wanted to pluck up my courage and get a photo with him. Previous photos I have gotten at cons I have never really been in love with how I look in them, so this time I wanted to do something for myself that would help me take a better picture. Like, say, cosplaying Jack Harkness. Because there is no way that Jack Harkness could possibly take a bad photo! For that I needed a shirt. So I decided to alter one to suit my needs.
Closet Cosplay Challenge for March: Video Game Hero
The theme for the March #monclocoscha challenge was Video Game with the challenge word of Hero. My very favourite video game, for which I have sacrificed many hours, is Skyrim. And the main character for Skyrim, the character you are playing, is always the hero… right? Even if they’re part of the Dark Brotherhood?
