Closet Cosplay Challenge for January: DC Villain

I adore challenges, particularly ones that encourage me to look at clothing and put together interesting outfits. The #monclocoscha challenge seems perfect for me because it’s also about cosplay! The monthly closet cosplay challenge is run by @breezeeweezee and @zeveelia over at Instagram and every month there is a different theme, plus a challenge word. For January, it was DC Comics with the optional challenge of Villains. How could I possibly turn that down when Harley Quinn fits perfectly into that category!

Sneaking onto the #monclocoscha challenge at the last moment for the January theme with a hastily cobbled together Bombshell Harley Quinn outfit was very satisfying. She’s my favourite version of Harley Quinn and I love this jacket. Any excuse to wear it is a good thing.

Pairing the jacket with a Batman top is a playful little multiversal nod to the main DC universe as Batman doesn’t exist in the DC Bombshells universe. That and I couldn’t find my Batman belt to go with it, so the top will have to do.

And yay for my hair kinda being long enough for pigtails again! Not quite long enough, but enough to sketch out the idea.

The white makeup is mostly to hide my horrible horrible sunburn. It did ok, but sunburn is sunburn and it still shows. I do love the little clown triangles I put around my eyes, even though they aren’t at all what the Bombshell version of Harley has.

The best part about being Harley Quinn is the amount of silly faces I got to pull. It’s never healthy to take yourself too seriously. Even though there is a lot to be serious about in the story of Harley Quinn, she always looks at the fun side of life. And pulls faces!
