The older I get the more I tend towards the aesthetic and character of the villain in Disney movies. Don’t get me wrong, I still love my Disney Princesses! But if I’m really honest with myself, Ursula and Maleficent have always been my favorite Disney Characters. They have agency and power, and are not shy about using it to get what they want. Sure they are the villains and as such lose in the end, but they have an interesting journey to get there!
The Evil Queen from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs has one of the coolest outfits, but sadly one of the least developed personalities of any of the Disney villains. Style challenges focus on the outfits though. For the Geek Fashion Blogger Alliance Disney theme I had to channel a Disney villain and her poison apple is one of the more iconic Disney symbols out there! Plus I’ll take almost any opportunity to wear a cape and my Disney Couture apple necklace!
Additionally, a piece of trivia I have only now just discovered on doing some light google diving; Snow White’s Evil Queen stepmother has a name! Her name is Queen Grimhilde. Up until now I would have sworn she didn’t have a name! But through the powers of the internet I have now got this new shiny piece of knowledge. And so do you.
