Dineybounding is heaps of fun! I’ve done it a few times and it always makes me feel a little special. Later this year I will be going to DisneySea for the very first time, so wanted something exciting to wear. And what better character to Disneybound as than the original ocean princess; Ariel. Plus I’ve wanted an excuse for a long time to use the gorgeous mermaid fabric, which is perfect for The Little Mermaid!
Building a Staff of Fireballs from the World of Skyrim
I love Skyrim. It’s a game I’ve spent many hours in, most of the time just wandering around and looking at things. It was the first game I really lost myself in and it holds a special place in my heart. There are so many fantastic weapons and armour in the game and I’d love to make them all! However “all of the things” is a poor starting point, so I decided to start with making a Staff of Fireballs instead.
Altering a Guy’s Shirt to Cosplay Jack Harkness
With John Barrowman back in Australia a convention appearance I really wanted to pluck up my courage and get a photo with him. Previous photos I have gotten at cons I have never really been in love with how I look in them, so this time I wanted to do something for myself that would help me take a better picture. Like, say, cosplaying Jack Harkness. Because there is no way that Jack Harkness could possibly take a bad photo! For that I needed a shirt. So I decided to alter one to suit my needs.
Closet Cosplay Challenge for March: Video Game Hero
The theme for the March #monclocoscha challenge was Video Game with the challenge word of Hero. My very favourite video game, for which I have sacrificed many hours, is Skyrim. And the main character for Skyrim, the character you are playing, is always the hero… right? Even if they’re part of the Dark Brotherhood?
Venom for Marvel Villains Styling Challenge
For February, the Geeky Fashion Blogger Alliance theme was Marvel Villains. The challenge was style an outfit based on a villain from the Marvel Universe. I chose to style my outfit after Venom, because cool spider powers aren’t just for the good guys!
Be My Galentine Mockingbird
For February, the Geek Fashion Blogger Alliance theme was Galentines! The challenge was style an outfit based on a lady in fandom that inspires you. I chose to style my outfit after Mockingbird, Dr. Bobbi Morse. She is a scientist, a spy, and an incredible sassy character. Her most recent comic series was tragically short, but was long enough for me to fall completely in love with Bobbi’s character.

Closet Cosplay Challenge for February: Blue Pokemon
Gyarados by the water! Shiny Gyarados by the water! This is my entry for February’s monthly closet cosplay challenge for blue Pokemon: Gyarados! I had a blast flouncing around in the early morning sun and sea breeze as a strong dragon Pokemon. What a great way to start off a weekend!
Evil Queen and the Poison Apple DisneyBounding
The older I get the more I tend towards the aesthetic and character of the villain in Disney movies. Don’t get me wrong, I still love my Disney Princesses! But I find the villains have much more exciting outfits in most instances. This outfit is styled after the Evil Queen from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, because I’ll take almost any opportunity to wear a cape and this awesome apple necklace!
Closet Cosplay Challenge for January: DC Villain
Sneaking onto the #monclocoscha challenge at the last moment for the January theme with a hastily cobbled together Bombshell Harley Quinn outfit was very satisfying. She’s my favourite version of Harley Quinn and I love this jacket. Any excuse to wear it is a good thing, and #monclocoscha fits the bill. Besides, the theme for January being DC Comics with the optional challenge of Villains. How could I possibly turn that down when Harley Quinn fits that perfectly!
Giant Killer Robots: Heavy Hitters
Giant Killer Robots: Heavy Hitters is a board game I backed on Kikcstarter and it is amazing! This game is full of quick movements, sneaky strategy, and brutal attacks that are somehow less painful as the setting is just a little bit zany. Once I got my head around the mechanics, it was one of those “wow where did those hours go?” kind of games. So much fun to play!
