The fifth and final week of Sartorial Geek’s Fashion Fix Challenge was all about books! I’ve been reading a lot more books with words as opposed to books with pictures recently and am very much enjoying myself. So I looked forward to diving into this challenge!
Unfortunately this week my body wasn’t willing as I was struck down with possibly the worst cold I’ve ever had. While I did spend most of the week curled up on the couch or on bed with a book, I only managed two outfits for the last week of this challenge.
I love an excuse to wear capes, and fantasy books provide that excuse. This particular cape is from Elhoffer Design and I think the beautiful textured grey knit of the fabric is perfect for the capes worn by the Fellowship of the Ring as they started their trip to Mount Doom. When I added the elven leaf pin from Weta Workshop I felt like it was time I joined the Fellowship, despite my cold!
Of course a literary fashion challenge wouldn’t be complete without me showing off my Ravenclaw pride! I wore my Ravenclaw quidditch jumper, which is made for proper English winters so is lovely and warm, perfect for wearing while curled up under a blanket with a good book.
While the end of this challenge was somewhat disappointing to me as I was knocked out by a cold, the challenge itself was amazing! Sartorial Geek ran an amazing challenge. Seeing other people’s enthusiasm on their outfit posts was such a joy, I can’t wait for the next challenge to roll around!
