Sartorial Geek’s Mystery Box

Week three of Sartorial Geek’s Geek Fashion Fix Challenge was a tiny bit intimidating. Mystery Box is a great idea as I can draw on any fandom I could style, but that meant all parameters were removed and I could pull from ALL of my wardrobe! Decision paralysis is a real thing…

This week I managed to post three whole outfits! They were all a whole lot  of fun to put together, and it made me review my closed and pull out a few of my least worn items.

First up was Doctor Strange. As this week is Mystery Box I thought Strange would fit right in! My Cloak of Levitation is the Poncho of Levitation from Elhoffer Design, and the absolutely stunning Eye of Agamotto is from What’s Your Passion Jewelry.

I had a fabulous time running about and spinning with this cape making it flow behind me. I love playing with capes like this, I’ll play about like this pretty much every time I put on a cape. Because cape!

For a nice subtle take on geeky fashion I chose this Finn cardi from Elhoffer Design paired with a bright orange scarf. I wore this out to dinner with friends and we had a lovely time! I love this cardi as it’s warm and comfy and subtle enough that it can be overlooked. But every time someone realises what this represents they get that shiny eyed look that I just love.

For my final mystery box outfit was Moon Knight, another pretty mysterious character. This jacket is from Destructo Disc Designs and it’s just perfect! I paired it with a white silky scarf with distressed moon designs on it that just adds that little bit of extra black and white flare. Plus warmth, as it’s still unfortunately winter.

It’s always nice to have rules around a challenge to focus my creativity, but I had a lot of fun this week pulling odd characters into my outfits. Sartorial Geek is doing an awesome job with this challenge, seeing the direction others went with their mystery box was so interesting! Looking forward to week four of this challenge!
